Korean Skin Care Routine In 10 Easy Steps
The Korean skin care routine is not simply a routine. It is a kind of lifestyle that has become a global phenomenon.
Step 1: Start With An Oil Cleanser
The first step in the Korean skin care routine is to remove all makeup from the skin. Generally, Korean women use two kinds of cleansers – one is an oil-based cleanser and the other is water-based. Take oil-based cleanser and apply it all over your face covering lip and eye area. This will help in removing oil-based makeup and other impurities from the skin effortlessly without any tugging or pulling of the skin. The best ingredients loved by Korean women in their oil cleanser are Macadamia oil, Grape seed oil and Jojoba oil.

Step 2: Follow Up With A Water-Based Cleanser
The second step in the Korean skin care routine is double cleansing. Even the aestheticians and dermatologists recommend cleansing twice. Water-based cleansers help in removing any sort of debris left on the face that the oil cleansers have missed and cleanse the skin completely. The best ingredients loved by Korean women in their water-based cleansers are Rice extract, Pearl extract and Green tea extract.

Step 3: Exfoliation
The third step in the Korean skin care routine is exfoliation of the skin. Scrubbing helps in cleaning pores and removes the dead cells revealing brighter and smoother skin. Moreover, if you are exfoliating your skin on a regular basis then it will help in the better absorption of other skin care products. All you need to do is exfoliate your skin 1-2 times in a week and pay more attention to your nose and the visible pores on your cheeks. It would be better if you find the ingredients such as Lactic acid, Salicylic acid and Black sugar in your scrub.

Step 4: Apply Toner
In the Korean skin care routine, the fourth step is the application of a toner. Toner not only helps in removing any leftover residues but also preps your skin to absorb the moisturisers that follow. Moreover, toner helps to maintain the pH balance of the skin and refreshes it. You can apply the toner in two ways: first is to soak up the cotton pad with toner and swipe all across your face and second is to dab it in your skin with your fingertips. The ingredients loved by Korean women in their toner are Citric acid, Licorice and Aloe.

Step 5: Use Essence
The fifth step to be followed in the Korean skin care routine is using an essence. A hybrid between a toner and a serum, the essence is perfect to hydrate and rejuvenate your skin. Essence is quite lightweight and has a concentrated formula to target fine lines, wrinkles, dull and uneven skin tones. It will help in making your skin look smoother and brighter. The best way to apply an essence is to transfer it in a spray bottle and spray it directly to your face. The ingredients that are most loved by Korean women in the essence are Hyaluronic acid, Rice extract and Yeast.
Step 6: Treatments To Repair The Skin
In order to tackle various skin issues like acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone etc. serums, ampoules and boosters are the ultimate solutions. These are enriched with some powerhouse ingredients to treat the skin accordingly. So, this is the sixth step in the Korean skin care routine. Simply take the treatment product on your fingertips and tap into the skin gently. The ingredients that are most loved in treatment products are Vitamin C, Tea tree and Soyabeans.
Step 7: Put On Sheet Mask
This step in Korean skin care routine is my favourite one. I love to pamper my skin with some amazing sheet masks. It is a sheet that sticks to the skin and allows it to absorb the nutrients and moisture to the fullest. Moreover, it offers a wonderful calming and relaxing experience. All you need to do is to select the sheet mask according to your skin requirement and put it on for 15-20 minutes. After removing the sheet mask make sure to pat in excess essence. Sheet mask can be used once or twice in a week.

Step 8: Application Of Eye Cream
The eighth step in the Korean skin care routine is to apply an eye cream. The skin around the eyes is very delicate and the thinnest part of our face. Eye creams are specially formulated with some beneficial ingredients that can hydrate and smoothen the skin and can also treat puffiness, crow’s feet and dark circles under the eyes. These eye creams are non-irritating and extra gentle on the skin. All you are required to do is to gently tap the eye cream with your ring finger around the eyes. Make sure not to rub it and avoid your water line.

Step 9: Apply Moisturiser
It is very important to apply a moisturizer according to your skin type. A moisturizer helps to hydrate the skin by sealing in the moisture. It will help in making your skin soft, smooth and supple. Moisturisers are available in many forms such as lotion, gel and cream and can be applied every day, once in the morning and at night.

Step 10: Application Of Sunscreen
The tenth and the last step in the Korean skin care routine is to apply a sunscreen. It is always applied in the last as it can shield your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun without being diluted by some other products. Make sure to apply the sunscreen even if you are indoors most of the day. It is advisable to apply a sunscreen 20 minutes before stepping out of your place in the sun. Sunscreen helps in protecting your skin from tanning, premature aging, pigmentation and dark spots.
