Maybelline launched a limited edition of red lipsticks on Valentine’s Day this year only but somehow I missed trying these. Now, the lipstick was available at a 50% discount on nykaa.com so, this was the best time to grab it. Therefore, I purchased one in the shade 05 Mercury Red and here is its detailed review. Packaging

The lipstick comes in a beautiful casing with a red and black ombre effect on the cap which is so in-line with a Valentine theme. The cap holds the tube tightly making it travel-friendly. However, it is a little difficult to identify the shade but the shade number and shade name are mentioned at the base of the lipstick. You can also have an idea of the shade by looking at the bottom color coordinated label. Overall, I absolutely loved this red and black packaging and it totally stands out amongst other lipsticks.

My Experience With Maybelline Color Sensational Reds On Fire Lipstick – 05 Mercury Red

The shade 05 Mercury Red is a deep red shade that will suit all skin tones. The lipstick has a creamy formula and glides on the lips easily. It doesn’t have any fragrance so, a good point for those having sensitive noses. The lipstick is super-pigmented and trust me, you only need to give one swipe and you are sorted. It will hide the pigmented lips perfectly.

Coming to the finish of the lipstick, it offers glossy creamy finish. Lips look quite glossy and the lipstick effectively keeps the lips moisturized. One thing that I have observed is that it gives a mild sticky feeling to the lips which is not so bothering for me.

Maybelline Color Sensational Reds On Fire Lipstick is not smudge-proof and transfers as well. In spite of that, it stays for good 4-5 hours on my lips without disturbing. After having a full meal, it fades from the inner corners of the upper lip but stays on the lower lip. One thing I would like to mention is that the staying of lipstick depends on the kind of food that you have. I had grilled sandwiches even then the lipstick didn’t fade much from my lower lip and offered a good staying power.

Overall, I liked Maybelline Color Sensational Reds On Fire Lipstick as it has a creamy glossy finish that I absolutely loved, offers amazing pigmentation, keeps the lips moisturized and is perfect for valentine season. Moreover, the price at which I got it makes it an amazing deal to grab.
