I have already tried Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick and have shared its review as well. So, make sure to check its review. When I got to know that this newly launched crayon is now available on nykaa so, I thought to try this as well. I have the crayon in the shade 50 Own your Empire. Now, let’s see how this lipstick performed.

How To Use?

Packaging

Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayoncomes in a slim, colour-coded crayon packaging. It comes with a retractable mechanism that I really appreciate. However, it is necessary to maintain the tip of the crayon so, a sharpener is also provided with it that is hidden in the lower part of the crayon that you need to pull out. Adding a sharpener is so thoughtful as it will help in using the product to its full potential every time. The crayon comes wrapped in a transparent sheet on which some product-related details such as ingredients and usage directions are mentioned. However, I am not able to see the shade name and number anywhere on the crayon.

My Experience With Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon

I have the crayon in the shade 50 Own your Empire which is a nice, cool undertone red colour that will suit all skin tones. The crayon has a small tapered tip that really helps to create a clear outline and then you can fill your lips easily by swiping the side of the crayon.

The crayon has a creamy texture and it glides easily and smoothly on the lips. It has a faint sweet fragrance that vanishes quickly after the application. The crayon is richly pigmented and delivers rich colour pay-off in a single swipe. However, I gave two swipes to get a solid, even finish. It settles into a soft, semi-matte finish that feels lightly hydrating and not super drying or super matte. It doesn’t accentuate the fine lines of the lips and is quite lightweight and comfortable to wear. Once the product gets settled, it has a mostly transfer-proof finish. By this I mean, it transfers very little and if I pat my finger against my lips, then it doesn’t get transfer on to my finger. However, if you will try to rub it then, it will definitely come off.

Now, let’s talk about the staying power of the crayon. It claims to offer stay for up to 8 hours. However, it is not the case. With light snacks and beverages, it stays for around 5 hours on my lips. However, on having a complete meal, it fades from the centre of my lower lip and up the sides of my top lip and needs reapplication. Reapplying this crayon is quite easy, it layers up easily without clumping and feels exactly the same as it did on the first application.

Overall, I really liked Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon as it glides easily, can be used as a lip liner, highly pigmented, offers a comfortable soft matte finish and offers a decent stay time.
