A month back Nykaa launched its Matte To Last Liquid Lipsticks. In that collection, each lipstick was named taking inspiration from different states of India. Now, in Ultra Matte Lipstick collection, the naming of each lipstick is done taking inspiration from the iconic women of the world. Each shade represents an iconic woman. As shared above, each lipstick is named after an iconic woman. The shade 08 Cleopatra is named after Cleopatra who was an Egyptian ruler and inspired innumerable works of arts and literature that depicted her as a ‘woman of surpassing beauty’. Cleopatra ruled the kingdom with her mellifluous voice and her grasp of dozens of languages. In reality, this shade represents her tempting beauty.

Packaging Of Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra

The lipstick comes encased in a classic matte black cardboard box. On the front side of the box, a nice shiny gold coloured embossing is done on all the four corners of the box making it look attractive. The top and base of this box are colour coordinated with the shade of the lipstick so, you can easily identify the shade from the outer packaging. On the outer box, all the necessary details are mentioned.

Inside the box lies the matte finished, cuboid-shaped lipstick case in which the bullet resides. The cap of the Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick is colour coordinated with the shade of the lipstick that makes easy to identify the shade. The shade name and number is provided at the base of the lipstick. You will also find manufacturing and expiry date on the lipstick itself. The cap provided is magnetic so, it will not open up in your bag on its own thus, making it travel-friendly. The packaging is quite similar to Nykaa So Matte Lipstick.

My Experience With Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra

Shade, Pigmentation & Fragrance

08 Cleopatra is a beautiful dark berry shade that would definitely suit all skin tones – fair, medium or deep. I absolutely loved the shade as it instantly brightens up the face.

Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra is quite pigmented and needs only 1-2 swipes to get the opaque colour on the lips. Moreover, it can easily hide pigmented lips. The lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance that vanishes after application.

Texture & Finish

Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra has a soft and smooth texture. Its super-smooth Jojoba Oil fortified formula makes it easy to glides on the lips without any tugging or pulling on the lips. The lipstick settles into a completely matte finish however, it is not one of those matte formulas that completely dry your lips up. Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick is lightweight and very comfortable on the lips and doesn’t make your lips dry. Moreover, it doesn’t accentuate the fine lines of your lips. The lipstick fulfills what it claims.

Staying Power

Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra is not transfer proof and smudge-proof. It does transfer. However, without disturbing it stays for 4-5 hours on my lips. After having full meals, the lipstick fades from the inner corners of my upper lips. However, it stays on the lower lip with the reduced colour intensity. The lipstick leaves a good stain on the lips after fading away completely.

Overall, I absolutely liked Nykaa Ultra Matte Lipstick – 08 Cleopatra as it glides easily on the lips, quite pigmented, settles into a completely matte finish, stays for 4-5 hours and doesn’t accentuate fine lines of the lips. Therefore, I would strongly recommend buying this lipstick.
