Nivea has recently launched its clay-based shower gels in 2 variants. One is Ginger & Basil and the other is Hibiscus & Grapefruit. In this post, I will be talking about the latter one that I purchased from nykaa.com.

Nivea Clay Fresh Shower Gel – Hibiscus & Grapefruit comes in a light blue coloured bottle and is provided with a flip-top cap. The dispenser provided dispenses a good amount of product in one go. The bottle bears all the product-related details on it. However, due to its size, the packaging is not travel-friendly.

My Experience With Nivea Clay Fresh Shower Gel – Hibiscus & Grapefruit

The shower gel is pearly pink in colour and has a medium thick, creamy texture. It has a very refreshing soft floral fragrance that stays for some time and is good for summers to get the fresh feeling. The gel is creamy and glides smoothly over the skin. It lathers quite well and cleanses the skin deeply. The shower gel contains kaolin in it which is a natural detoxifier and helps in removing dirt, excess oil, pollution and bacteria from the skin and that too without stripping off the natural oils of the skin.

Nivea Clay Fresh Shower Gel also contains glycerin which acts as a humectant and helps in reducing moisture loss thereby keeping the skin hydrated. Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) seed oil present in the gel acts as an emollient and helps in softening and soothing the skin. it also helps to restore skin’s natural moisture barrier function.

As shared above, the shower gel cleanses the skin deeply and the good part is that it doesn’t dry out the skin, I believe it is because of the presence of above-said ingredients in it. Post bathing, my skin didn’t cry for instant moisturisation and it was feeling quite soft, smooth and supple. However, I still apply body lotion just to lock-in the moisture.

Overall, I really liked Nivea Clay Fresh Shower Gel as it deep cleanses the skin, has a refreshing fragrance, doesn’t dry out the skin and make it soft and smooth. I am having sensitive skin and the gel didn’t cause any sort of irritation and redness on my skin and I believe it will work for all skin types.
