The secret behind making your eyes look brighter and full of life is MASCARA. The days when I don’t feel like putting on makeup but still want to look good, I always apply mascara and a lip colour that add a little colour to the face. Moreover, it requires only half a minute to apply mascara and you are sorted.

I have got this mascara in my Fab Bag Of September 2018 in the shade 01 Black Beauty. It comes encased in a pink and purple coloured, classic Sugar cosmetics cardboard packaging that has geometric patterns printed on it making a girl’s face. Inside the box, you will find a long, cylindrical, matte black coloured mascara tube. It is provided with a screw cap that holds the applicator wand. The mascara wand is made a little curved so as to enhance the curling effect of the eyelashes.

There is not much information on the mascara tube except shade details and the brand name. The ingredient list, shelf life, etc. is written on the outer cardboard packaging. Overall, the packaging is sleek and travel-friendly.

How To Use?

• By twisting back and forth, remove the wand from the mascara tube. Wipe off the excess mascara on the lid of the tube.
• Now, look up so as to lift your lashes.
• Placing the wand at the base of eyelashes, wiggle it back and forth.
• With a zig-zag motion, pull the wand out towards the tips of the eyelashes.

My Experience With Sugar Cosmetics Uptown Curl Waterproof Mascara

The mascara is a normal black mascara and has a good pigmentation. The texture of the mascara is a little on a thicker side. When I tried swatching it on my hand, I actually feel like dried up but it looks fine on my eyes. It can be applied on the lower lash line without messing up around. The best part about this mascara is that it doesn’t have any fibres which are really very difficult to remove and can get into the eyes thus cause irritation. Moreover, it doesn’t cause any sort of irritation or watering of the eyes. So, it is safe to be used on the sensitive eyes.

However, the product forms clumps on the wand and therefore you need to remove the excess product every time you apply the mascara. Sugar Uptown Curl Waterproof Mascara is decently pigmented and you need 2-3 swipes to get proper mascara effects on the eyes.

The mascara makes my eyelashes look longer and adds a little volume to them as well. In addition, it gives a good curling effect to my eyelashes and that too without using an eyelash curler. This mascara doesn’t feel heavy on the eyelids and takes 3-4 minutes to get dry.

Now, Sugar Cosmetics Uptown Curl Waterproof Mascara claims to be waterproof. However, it is not the case. It comes off easily with a splash of water. So, I am really disappointed. However, it is smudge proof and stays in place for good 6-8 hours.

Overall, the mascara makes eyelashes look longer, adds a little volume, gives good curling effect, smudge proof, has good staying power, doesn’t irritate eyes however, it is not waterproof that it claims to be.
