According to the information that I collected about these two ingredients – Triethyleneglycol is a fragrance ingredient and a viscosity decreasing agent. It is considered safe. Phenoxyethanol is a natural replacement for paraben and is used as a preservative in skin care products.

Colour, Texture & Fragrance

The face wash is golden orange in colour that is colour coded according to the ingredient present in it. The face wash is a gel-based product and has a consistency that is not too runny but is on the fluid side. It has a strong fragrance of Chandan and sandalwood extracts that lingers on for quite some time.

My Experience With VLCC Ayurveda Chandan & Kesar Face Wash

This face wash is a soap-free formulation and doesn’t lather up much. However, it cleanses the skin effectively. Only a small quantity is enough to cleanse the face. It easily removes dirt and oil from the skin and doesn’t dry out the skin at all. Post wash, my skin was feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This face wash also claims to give natural fairness however, a face wash cannot provide you fairness but it does give brightness to the face. Though, there is no information given about the suitability of this face wash for any specific skin type but I believe that it will work best for normal, oily, combination and sensitive skin types. It may not be suitable for excessively dry skin types.

Overall, I really liked VLCC Ayurveda Natural fairness Double Action Chandan & Kesar face wash as it is made up of natural ingredients, paraben free, soap-free formulation, cleanses skin well, doesn’t dry out the skin, smells great and is quite affordable. Therefore, I would strongly recommend buying this face wash.
