L’oreal has recently launched a new range of liquid lipsticks. The range is created after taking the inspiration from the ultimate French dessert – Macarons. It is indeed a delicious spin to one of the most popular desserts on Earth – the macarons. The range comprises of 7 shades and is available on nykaa.com. The thought of macarons creates an image of pastel-coloued sweet delights in the mind. Isn’t it? So, I was really excited to try this lipstick and purchased it in the shade 834 Infinite Spice and here is its detailed review. Packaging

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Ultra Matte Liquid Les Macarons Lipstick comes in a cute, colour-coded, matte, plastic casing and is provided with a glossy, beige cap to which the applicator is attached. Though, it is quite easy to identify the shade from the colour-coded casing but the shade name and number are also mentioned on the cap as well. The lipstick comes wrapped in a cellophane paper on which the ingredient list is mentioned.

My Experience With L’Oreal Paris Infallible Ultra Matte Liquid Les Macarons Lipstick

As shared above, I have the lipstick in the shade 834 Infinite Spice which is a toasted brown shade with peachy undertones. The shade will flatter people with fair to medium skin tones but can wash out dusky skin tones.

The lipstick has a moussey texture and glides easily on the lips. The applicator is quite soft, leaf-shaped, a little slanted and spreads the product evenly on the lips. A hollow center is given to the applicator that picks up the product in the right amount and you don’t need to dip the applicator again and again in the tube for a single application. Moreover, its slanted shape makes it quite easy to line and reach the corners of the lips. These little things make the product stand out amongst others. The lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance thereby justifying its name ‘Macaron’ and it stays for some time after the application.

The lipstick offers rich pigmentation and you only need to give two swipes to get even coverage on the lips. However, it gives a sticky feeling to the lips. So, if you are not comfortable with a sticky formula then, you may not like this product as the stickiness remains throughout. Another point that I didn’t like about this lipstick is that it takes around 10-15 minutes to settle so, I would recommend not to eat, drink or press your lips together during that time.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Ultra Matte Liquid Les Macarons Lipstick claims to offer ultra-matte finish however, it settles into a soft matte finish that doesn’t dry out the lips at all.

Staying Power

Once the lipstick settles down completely, it becomes smudge-proof and transfer-proof. Moreover, it is waterproof. The lipstick claims to stay for 16 hours so, let’s see whether it fulfills this claim or not. Hands down to its amazing staying power, the lipstick stayed on my lips for around 12 hours. I applied the lipstick at around 7:30 in the morning, had my breakfast, light snacks & beverages during the day, had my lunch, took a small nap, my evening tea with light snacks and the lipstick was still there on my lips with a minimal fading. I didn’t feel the need to retouch the lipstick.

Overall, I really liked L’Oreal Paris Infallible Ultra Matte Liquid Les Macarons Lipstick and I feel it can be a perfect lipstick for office wear and for special occasions where we need a long-staying formula.
