Nykaa is continuously launching new products in the market and doesn’t seem like hitting the brakes any time soon. Recently, Nykaa has launched a new range of Lip & Cheek Colour called Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour. The whole range is inspired by women from our favourite TV series and every shade is named after the famous female characters from Gossip Girl, Friends, Pretty Little Liars and S*x and the City. Nykaa believes that each of us can relate to these female characters and every shade truly reflects their personalities. Now, let’s see my experience with Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour.

Packaging

The Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour comes in a colour coordinated, opaque, cylindrical tube packaging. The cylindrical tube has a matte black coloured screw cap with the applicator attached to it. The applicator has a pointy tip with a perforated body and is quite flexible that makes the application precise and easy. The lip & cheek colour comes encased in a colour coordinated cardboard box that bears all the product-related information on it. Overall, the packaging is nice and one can easily identify the shade from the outer packaging itself.

My Experience With Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour

I have purchased it in the shade 01 Rachel which is a nice n*de brown shade and is perfect for everyday use.

Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour claims to have a moussey texture however, it has a liquidy and thin texture. The application is not that even as well. The lip colour takes around 10-12 minutes to get completely dry and then settles into a matte finish. The good part is that it is quite lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips and is quite comfortable to wear. Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour has a strong fragrance that stays for some time and for me it is really bothering.

Coming to the pigmentation part, it claims to offer high pigmentation but unfortunately, it is not richly pigmented and you need to give at least 3 swipes to get a good colour on the lips. So, if you have pigmented lips then, you will be getting a sheer coverage. The shade 01 Rachel after settling down appears more like a tinted lip balm on the pigmented lips.

Let’s talk about its staying power. Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour is not smudge-proof and transfer proof. It transfers a bit and stays for around 3-4 hours without disturbing. It cannot survive meals and fades away from the inner corners of the lips and needs re-application.

As a cheek colour, I really liked it. It blends easily on the cheeks and settles into a matte finish. It doesn’t accentuate or highlight the dry areas of the cheeks and doesn’t look patchy. On the cheeks, it stays for around 3-4 hours. In order to remove the Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour, only a wet wipe is sufficient.

Overall, I am not really impressed with Nykaa Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour and will be using it more like a cheek colour and not as a lip colour.
