Shakti Mohan – A famous Dancer-choreographer and TV personality has launched her own cosmetic line and has turned into a beauty entrepreneur. This beauty line is launched in collaboration with purplle.com and is called NY Bae X Shakti. The range consists of bullet lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, nail lacquers and eyeliners. I have already shared my review on NY Bae X Shakti Creamy Matte Lipstick so, make sure to check that post. I have the liquid lipstick in the shade Ballet Babe 1 so, let’s see how this lipstick performed.

NY Bae x Shakti Liquid Lipstick comes in a sleek, transparent, plastic tube. It is provided with a rose gold cap having a homogeneous pattern on it that looks attractive. At the base of the tube is mentioned shade name and number. The lipstick comes encased in a rose-gold cardboard box that bears some product-related details on it. Overall, the packaging is simple, sleek and sturdy.

My Experience With NY Bae X Shakti Liquid Lipstick

As shared above, I have this lipstick in the shade Ballet Babe 1 which is a mix of plum and purple tones. The creamy matte lipstick that I have from NY Bae X Shakti range is in the shade 07 Head Bang and by chance, these two shades are quite similar. So, keep this thing in mind before purchasing these lipsticks. Anyways, such shades suit everyone irrespective of the skin tones and are perfect to wear on occasions & festivals.

The applicator provided is given a little slant and is quite easy to work with. It picks up the right amount of the product so, you don’t need to dip it in the tube again and again. The lipstick has a moussey formula, is quite pigmented and offers rich colour pay-off. Two swipes are enough to hide the pigmented lips and get the required colour. The lipstick has a mild sweet fragrance that vanishes after the application so, it will not bother sensitive noses. On application, the lipstick feels a little sticky for a few minutes. However, after 5-7 minutes, the lipstick gets dry completely and the stickiness vanishes.

NY Bae X Shakti Liquid Lipstick claims to offer a matte finish and it fulfills what it claims. It offers a matte finish and doesn’t accentuate fine lines on the lips. However, if you have extremely dry lips then, make sure to prep them before application as it feels a little drying. It is quite lightweight and once it gets completely dry then, you don’t even feel that you have applied something on the lips.

Staying Power

The lipstick has a different formula. It is transfer-resistant and only transfers a little bit on the cups and glasses. However, it is kiss-proof. If you will try to rub it with your finger then it will come off onto your finger. The lipstick is water-resistant as well. On my lips, it stays for 8-9 hours however, on having a complete meal, it fades from the inner corners of my upper lip and from the centre of the lower lip so, needs reapplication.

Overall, NY Bae X Shakti Liquid Lipstick is a decent lipstick that is quite pigmented, offers a matte finish, transfer-resistant, water-resistant, kiss-proof and stays for quite long so, I would definitely suggest trying it.
